Beans on Toast

Ever since I've come to this fandom, I have read a multitude of stories that feature beans on toast. Being an American, I've never actually tried it.  So, I go to Ye Olde Google to see how to make it.

Finding the beans wasn't easy, I was able to find the vegetarian beans which the author says is a satisifactory substitute.

The verdict:

Over all it was ok, I liked the contrast between the crunchy toast and the beans. I did the one with melted cheese, since we had some chedder in the fridge. I couldn't manage the fries though, don't keep those around, as we would  EAT them.  I couldn't help but think that some chopped onions would have been good on top.

Mom stole the left over veggie beans, so I only got to try it once. But we agreed that we liked them better than the pork and beans that we usually get, they aren't as sweet.

Is there anything else out there that I should give a try? If i can locate the ingrediants here?
