(no subject)
I actually got my painting finished in just a couple of days! Anna asked me to paint a picture like i did the kids for Christmas, as a present to her niece for her sweet 16. I was nervous about it because im such a perfectionist with art anyway, and she had specific colors i had to use and certain things to use and not use in it. Plus, i've never gotten paid for any of my art, so i wanted to make it extra good. AND i only had a short amount of time to get it finished. Overall i guess im happy with it. There are few things i want to change, but i think somebody better just take it away from me so i cant fool with it anymore.
I saw Cars the other day and i really liked it. It always amazes me how all Disney/Pixar movies can be so funny, and at the same time be so touching and meaningful! The one thing i've noticed about Disney movies though is how there's no singing anymore. Back with The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin (you get my drift) there were always such good songs/singing.
Now with a lot of todays movies, the songs are just basically background music sung by famous people, rather than actually being a part of the movie. One of the exceptions being Sarah McLachlan's "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2. I love that song! And i know the songs fit, and have meaning, but its just not the same. But anyway, i blame the change on famous people getting to voice the characters now. Back in the day they didnt have famous people doing it, and they could all sing well, therefore they could have songs in the movie rather than "in" the movie. It makes me mad too because that was aways one of my dream jobs, getting to voice a character in a Disney movie, and now i'll never be able to since im not famous. I guess i could go for animating a Disney movie which would be an even bigger dream job, but i dont think i have the skills for that.
Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs was last night. Even though i didnt really care too much about who won, its still special to watch. There's just something about grown manly men hugging and crying that warms the heart!
