Free the West Memphis Three
Today is the start of West Memphis 3 week, so for those that are unaware of this story, I would like to share it with you.
Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills
Above is a trailer for the documentary film that was done on this case. This is a story of prejudice and fear; where wearing black and listening to heavy metal makes you a devil worshiper likely to commit human sacrifices. Really, the absurdity of this logic would make for some great fiction about the south, but unfortunately this diluted thinking led to the wrongful conviction of 3 boys (one of which is now on death row). I ask you to please become aware of this issue and tell others about it. These guys were put in jail for being different and apparently in West Memphis, Arkansas, that's an acceptable crime
You can watch the above documentary here. Likewise, there was a follow-up film produced in 2000 called Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, which can be watching here. Unfortunately, these (now 30 year old men) are still in jail and one is still fighting for his life on death row.
