Ugh

That's almost how I feel.... almost. Slight fever, runny nose, and my throat is a little puffy. Certainly on the light side of a cold, but a cold none-the-less. I blame Luna for giving me her cooties because she's got the plague.

I'm updating, just to update. I'm sure you care so much.

I've been watching Beet The Vandel Buster a lot; I really like it. I love anime that mimics RPGs like Beet and .hack it's like watching the story of the game instead of playing it. I was planning on rotating between Beet and Rurouni Kenshin every 15 episodes (the number I can burn to disk), but I found that after watching Beet, I really want to finish it out since the story is very linear (always keeps me hooked!). I still need to watch an episode or two of Fruits Basket to determine if it's too Shojo (girly) for me (stop laughing Bunny, it is possible :P). If I like it, I'll burn it to disk and watch it. I'm just being careful because I just had to buy a 50 pack of DVDs and those fuckers are expensive... especially when you've got very little money and presently no income.

Yesterday I watched Hip Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes again, which is "a riveting documentary that tackles issues of masculinity, sexism, violence and homophobia in today’s hip-hop culture". I find the documentary very interesting in that it takes an introspective look at Rap and the culture it produces and exposes all the bullshit that I see coming from it. I felt like hearing more Baka Beyond for the first time in probably 12 years (so, when I was about 15 I bought my first album), so I downloaded the other albums I could find because I have mad internet skillz. Likewise, I read an interesting article about an Indian reservation and the Gov trying to keep them from growing industrial hemp. This story was actually made into a documentary called Standing Silent Nation. I used my internet skillz on that one too. It's really good; I really enjoyed it. Between seeing how absurd it is to criminalize industrial hemp farmers as if they were drug dealers, and the culture of Sioux Indians, I thought it was great.

I saw my Acupuncturist today for the first time in 2 weeks... I really needed it badly. My lower back has been bothering me again, my left shoulder is absolutely horrible, my back is really bad, and last night was when I started to feel sick (and I didn't sleep that well, either). Sometimes when you receive treatment, you can feel the Qi flowing to a certain area or areas. Through my experience in internal martial arts like Baguazhang, I know what's Qi and what is simply imagination. Well, the Qi this time was very heavy... which, isn't bad at all.. I think it's good actually.. To me, it shows how much focus is being put on a single area. Helen put the needles in my back this time (because of my specific problem, we alternate and sometimes I'm face up and other times I'm face down.. I really do prefer face up, only because the face pads (or "toilet seat" as Bunny calls them) aren't that great and will get uncomfortable after a while). While I prefer being face up, I was glad she worked directly on my back this time because I needed it terribly. Well, unfortunately, Helen was really busy today and (I think) I was laying there much much longer than the standard 20 minutes. Between my runny nose, and the discomfort of the pad, I got very uncomfortable, very fast.... I was so happy to have the treatment, but after a while I was really itching to get out of there.

As I always say, every Acupuncture apointment I have had has felt about 2 steps away from miracle working. I told Helen how my shoulder was hurting and she figured out that 2 of the tendons were out of place and so she pressed on a few areas and moved my arm around and then when she would feel the surrounding area, it didn't hurt anymore. Apparently this is what gave me such a stiff neck the other day was due to my bicipital tendon being out of place. I look forward to the day that I can learn that kind of crazy shit. Helen gave me some medicine for my cold as well and afterwards, I really didn't feel like going grocery shopping, so I just came home.

My god, even when I'm sick, I write long assed entries. I think that working part time as a journalist for NewsTarget.com is maybe a good idea after all...

bunny, acupuncture, watching documentaries, being sick, watching anime
