Yesterday Verizon came by and we switched over to their FiOS DSL service, and we also switched over to using their cable as well. We've had a lot of problems with Comcast, and I've been wanting an excuse to switch to a wireless network anyway. It costs us probably a little more than $10 more than what we were paying for Comcast cable internet and TV ($100/mo), and we get much faster speeds and more on TV as well. I am seriously loving all of this, lol. I am able to load multiple videos on Google Video while using BitTorrent at the same time without any problems, and it also takes much less time to load web pages. The TV service is awesome (this, comming from someone who generally doesn't watch TV); it reminds me a lot of when I used to have digital cable (I guess this is digital cable!) like 8 years ago. I can look at the TV guide on screen and set reminders for stuff I want to watch and watch free "On Demand" stuff (like that documentary about caves that I watched last night... that was awesome)... I've never been much for what's on TV over the past 5 years or so, but I think I will be watching a bit more now that I can see what's on when. Given, I'll still be sticking to all the dorky channels like Discovery, History, TLC, and now the Travel Channel (I've always loved the Globe Trekkers series; now I can actually watch it on TV instead of trying to download it online).
I started to watch a documentary about free energy today (Tesla: The Race to Zero Point) since I'm currently brushing up on my knoweldge of
the hoax that is Global Warming. All this talk of alternative energy reminded me.. wait no.. that's not how I was reminded... (Teehee) Oh yeah! I turned on the travel channel and these people were actually looking to move into an
EarthShip, which is something I've been totally fascinated with ever since I learned about them only maybe 6 months or so ago. Usually these are found in states with a desert environment (like New Mexico), but really, these things can be built anywhere and I am certain that I want to live in one some day.
Not much to talk about today; I'm just excited about things :D.
