Thursday, Friday, IIN, and then Today... whew!

Thursday I spent the day with Lindsey. We were supposed to get together around noon, but she was having a crappy morning and asked me to come over earlier. When I got this message from her, I had just put my applesauce cake into the oven (my fav ^_^ it's amazing if you ask me). I thought about taking it out of the oven and putting it in the fridge, but instead decided to pack it up and bring it with me because it's been my experience that baking helps make you smile and I'm always about making Lindsey smile. I hopped into the shower, and then got ready and headed out. We sat around for a bit and watched TV, and then we went to Fu Wah Inn for some amazing Chinese food (they certainly have the best!). This was wonderful since I have been craving Chinese for a while. Tasting the food again for the first time since I started cooking a lot, I could tell a little more about the food and how they make it and how it's a little different from the regular kind of Chinese food. I figured out how they make the Chicken so good (dip it in egg), but I'm still not 100% on the soy sacue in their Chicken w/ Broccoli (god, I really want that now!!)... Maybe cornstarch. That's one of the things you pick up when you start to make all your own food: you can tell how something was made ;).

After me and Lindsey got back to her house, we finished with my cake and started to watch Happy Feet. It's not a bad movie, but... it's kinda dull (for me atleast) in the begining, so I started to doze off. Lindsey wasn't having it, and was poking me with her foot (we were laying on opposite sides of the same couch) whenever I closed my eyes, so I had to sit up and try to watch it. Like I said, it wasn't bad; it just had some spots that were too dull for me. After the movie was over, we ate dinner with her family and her sister Lauren (who stopped by to have dinner with everyone). It's been a while since I've seen her.. so it's really weird seeing her really really pregnant!

After dinner we watched some TV. I begged her to keep on Trading Spouses because that crazy lady was on in a new episode.. Unfortunately, Lindsey was not having it, so she turned on Discovery channel and introduced me to my new favorite show: Man vs Wild. At 10:30 I left for home and I don't think I stayed up too late thursday night.

On Friday I did a health counseling session with miss Bunny close to the afternoon and after that time sort of flew by until it was time to leave to catch the train. Before I left, I read a lot about Man vs Wild on wikipedia and then about a similar show, Survivorman (which I'll start watching tomorrow probably; I love bittorrent!). This also lead me to Tom Brown Jr's website and that of course made me think of my friend Justin who does seminars with him. Between all that and watching the first two Man vs Wild episodes earlier in the day, this layed heavy on my imagination for the rest of the weekend. It took me a while to get to Jon's, since I forgot my water bottle after I already crossed the bridge into Morrisville, so I had to go back home to grab it and then track back to Jon's place. I picked up Jon and the train arived very shortly after we got to Hamilton Station. Once we were in NYC, we dropped our stuff off at our hotel and then went to get Japanese food from East Japanese. I was gonna stick to something somewhat lite like miso soup (best miso soup I've ever had!) and 3 salmon rice balls (I'm addicted, okay?), but I decided that I wanted to try the chicken meatballs. They were, well, chicken meatballs. I guess I was expecting something a little more like the Italian versions I've seen. After dinner it was back to the hotel and soon after it was time for bed.

Well, Saturday marked the begining if IIN weekend #7 of 10. Nothing amazing to report, really. We got a new book that talks about eating with the seasons and seems to refrence Traditional Chinese Medicine a good bit as well. Sounds perfect for me, since I base my practice around Dr. John Douillard's 3-Season diet as well as the Traditional Chinese Diet (aka 5 element theory applied to dietics as the cultural diet of the people of China). Sunday was pretty much the same. We didn't go over much this weekend I already didn't know since the big themes were organic foods (check) and the dangers of GMO foods (check). I am looking forward to our next IIN weekend though, because I beleive that either Paul Pitchford or Dr. Mercola will be guest speakers; both of these men I really look upon as mentors in the field of health and wellness.

Today I just sat around and watched the rest of the episodes of the first season of Man vs Wild.. that's really the only thing I've done :D. Tomorrow Jenna wants to spend some time togher and that should be fun. I think I'm gonna get ready for bed now..
