Blue Apron #14 Salmon Pastrami on Rye with Red Cabbage & Green Apple Slaw. Where do I begin? I haven't ever eaten practically everything on this plate! I had salmon the other day, and really like it, but I've never before eaten rye bread, Thousand Island dressing (homemade or no), cornichons, or sauerkraut. It was delicious! I don't know if I would like them separately, but I have learned that it's the flavour combination that you are looking for. They keep going on and on about flavour profiles on Chopped, and now I finally understand what that means.

Mom went nuts for the red cabbage and green apple slaw, and I liked it, but not enough to finish it. I burned the bread when I toasted the sandwich, because our stove tends to not get as hot as one might like, so I didn't expect it to start burning! However, even the slight blackness tasted good. Great sandwich all around, would make again. Also, the cat loved the salmon leftovers, so it was popular with the whole family!
