Summary: AU this is my first try at this one. So at the moment I’ve been writing about a case study for my course; this makes me feel like I’m still doing uni work - Wrote this a couple of weeks ago let me know what you think.
“
Mr & Mrs Walker” the steward said “I’ll have your belongings taken to your room straight away”
William Walker nodded at the steward but being the type of man he was didn’t give a tip for the man’s trouble and said “Good”; his wife looked at him in disappointment but just smiled at the steward and waited for the rest of the family to join before heading to the ship.
Before long the rest of the family were turning up in their cars and heading in William and Nora’s direction; the walkers had a large family but were wealthy enough to get tickets for everyone.
The first to arrive were Mr. Luc Laurent and Mrs. Sarah Laurent and their children Paige and Cooper. They had been married quickly after meeting in France and quickly started their own family. They had been happily married since the day they had met but the disapproval from William was still strong because of the lack of money (in his eyes) that the Luc made drawing stupid pictures.
The next to arrive were Mr. Thomas Walker and Mrs. Julia Walker; again the disappointment that William felt when he saw the couple was enormous. They had been married for over ten years and still hadn’t produced an offspring for him; there had to be something wrong with the girl. It wasn’t likely to be his genes that would fail. He nodded as they approached him.
The third couple to arrive were MP Mr. Robert Macalister and Mrs. Katherine (Kitty) Macalister; the newlyweds. He was so proud of his daughters’ choice and accepted Robert into the family immediately. The only child he could be proud of; at least they’ll start having children soon and give him the grandchildren he had also wanted.
The next to arrive was Mr. Kevin Walker and his current partner Mrs. Emily Dickenson; they had been together for a year now and William was hoping that they would get married soon. It was slightly disgraceful of Kevin to not make an honest woman of Emily but then again he was known for seeing other women on the side. He thought that at his age he would of finally settled down; he had a good job as a lawyer and now needed to focus on his social status, he was starting to embarrass the family. What was worse, was the fact that Emily knew about Kevin’ wandering eye and accepted it because she wanted to become Mrs. Kevin Walker.
The final to arrive was Mr. Justin Walker by himself, thank god, every time they had seen him recently he had a different girl on his arm and was drunk. The worse embarrassment of his children; he watched as he came over, at less he seemed to be walking in a straight line current, it was morning after all.
There were pleasantries exchanged as the met with each other. They were finally heading back to their home country America; going to New York; they had been on a trip around Europe and had spent the last week in the United Kingdom. They had travelled around the England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland separately and hadn’t seen each other since they visited Bath when they arrived in England from France. Now they were in Southampton Harbour and organising themselves ready; they started heading in the direction of the first class entrance which was close to where they had arrived.
They were all discussing their trips around the country with Kevin saying how much he had enjoyed the U.K and in particular the countryside in Wales. They started walking towards the first class entrance of the ship going past the crowds that were waiting in the lines for third class; making sure that there were no lice in their heads and straight past the second class individuals as well.
Everyone looked down at the third class passages; not understanding how they allowed themselves to live like that. Then walking past the second class individuals it was William, Tommy, Robert and Kitty that looked down at them; still believing that they were better than them; how could they not when they were first class individuals and didn’t know how if you could afford a second class ticket then why not the first class ticket; they snubbed them as they walked pass.
Kevin looked to the right were there was a small entrance for individuals to walk into when someone caught his eye; he stopped for a second and stared, wondering what it would be like to be with them, they were so beautiful. He carried on looking until the person looked his direction; they caught each others’ eyes and held them until Justin grabbed his arm and whispered “Stop staring”.
Kevin quickly looked at Justin and realized he must have been looking for a bit too long; Justin was the only one of his family that knew about his wandering eye for the same sex, the rest of the family always presumed he was just a bachelor set in his ways. Though he had always suspected that his mother knew and maybe even his Uncle Saul and Sarah but he was about to say anything to confirm their suspicion.
He walked on casually looking back but not seeing the young man he was just looking at.

Mr Scott. Wandell was walking to the staff entrance of the ship; feeling slightly embarrassed that they still had to check for lice in their head. It was humiliating; just because they were working on the ship didn’t mean that they poor, he actually got paid pretty well and had come from a good family.
‘Ah well’ he thought at least it was quicker than the other queues for the check; the White Star Line ships had a particular standard for cleanliness and hygiene; thank god or he would be working at a hotel.
He wouldn’t mind working or owning his own cafe or hotel but he liked to travel which is why he joined the company in the first place; he worked his way up and when the opportunity came to be one of the chefs on a new ship, he jumped at it.
He looked to the left as he was walking up the rail to the entrance and caught the man staring at him; he shouldn’t be that obvious about it, it could get him in trouble. He looked at the man and appreciated the looks of him; though slightly older than himself but that had never been much of an issue before.
He carried of admiring his looks and in particular the gorgeous blue eyes he had; he suspected they could be seen from miles away, until a younger man pulled him a while. It was a shame; he was really something beautiful to behold. He carried on walking up the rail and into the ship, ready to start the day and full of hopes.

Once the passengers and the crew were settled on the ship the captain ordered the engines to be lit and the ship took sail on the 10th April 1912.
