Summary: Kevin and Scotty see Michelle after she moved back to the city with her new boyfriend. Based after the last episode so 5.08
“Inside Now” Steve said.
Scotty looked around; it was earlier afternoon and there was no one in sight; he carefully backed into the house again, keeping an eye on the gun. Steve seemed slightly unstable and was waving the gun all over the place.
“Steve” Scotty said calmly but didn’t know what to say afterwards.
“I want my children back, now” Steve said looking for them.
Scotty unconsciously edge towards the door that led to the babies’ room.
Steve saw the movement “Move out the way”
“No” Scotty said firmly but scared out of his mind; not just for himself but for his children.
“I want to see my children” Steve said getting angry.
“They’re not yours, they are mine” Scotty said trying to reason with Steve but he can see that Steve isn’t in his right mind.
“Please don’t do this” Scotty said; he fells useless. Kevin would know what to do he thought.
“Just leave now and no one has to ever know about this” Scotty continued his plea.
“I’m not leaving with them” Steve says calmly.
“I’m not letting you take them” Scotty says confidently; there is no way he is losing them again.
“I should warn you that Kevin will be back soon, with his family. Do you really think you can kill all of us?” Scotty bluffs not knowing when Kevin was coming back and none of the Walkers are coming to his rescue either.
“You’re lying” Steve yells.
“I’m not” Scotty said caution seeping into him.
“I know you’re lying” Steve says shortly and with a little smile.
Scotty looks at the smile and suddenly understands “Where is Shelly?” he asks.
“Oh, she is fine” Steve says; his smile enlarging.
Scotty isn’t quite sure what he to believe; that smile freaks him out and he seems crazy enough at the moment to kill.
“What have you done?” Scotty asked not knowing what the answer would be.
“I knew that you and Kevin would be called in for questioning if Shelly went missing. Granted it took longer than I thought but it gave me time to plan; make sure everything was in place” Steve said smiling.
Scotty got even more nervous with that statement; he planned this! He thought.
“Now, I’m going to ask you ONE more time, where are my babies” Steve said, now point the gun directly at Scotty.
Scotty made a decision at that point; maybe not the best decision but he stood in front of Steve and said “No”.
Not expecting that answer Steve pulled the trigger on the gun and shoots Scotty; he watches as Scotty goes down and in complete shock he drops the gun.
He doesn’t know what to do but then actually remembers what he came here for. He walks over Scotty and though he tries to stop him; Steve just shrugs him off.
“Stop” Scotty tries to yell but it doesn’t come out in anything more than a whisper.
Steve walks into the room where the babies are sleeping and picks them up and leaves.
He takes one look at Scotty before leaving the room.
Scotty tries one more time to speak “Please, don’t do this” as he collapses from the pain.

Kevin heads back home; looking forward to a nice day after the conversation with Sam; he is worried about Shelly but he is more positive about the situation, he has his family back.
He and Scotty have been great lately; better than the last year really. He still can’t believe that he nearly walked anyway from Scotty; though there is no excuse for what Scotty did he still loves him more than anything or anyone in his life.
He starts to walk to the apartment above the restaurant and knows there is something wrong immediately; the door is slightly open.
He walks into the room and he feels that he has gone into his worst nightmare; seeing Scotty lying on the floor.
He stands there in shock for what can’t be more than a few seconds but seems forever before he rushes to Scotty and gets out his phone at the same time.
“Scotty, honey” Kevin said as he goes to him.
Scotty doesn’t answer him and he rings 911 “Ambulance please, my husband has been shot” Kevin partially yells down the phone.
“No, he isn’t. Please hurry” Kevin prays as he tells the operator his address.
Kevin looks at the wound were Scotty was hit and the blood still coming out. He quickly gets up and says “I’ll be back soon” and rushes to find a cloth before returning to Scotty’s side and putting the cloth on his wound. It was at that point he heard the Ambulance and thanked the god that they came quickly.
As the paramedics came in, he noticed Justin was the first on the screen. “Kevin, what happen?” as he rushes to Scotty’s side and puts the bandage and pressure on Scotty.
“I don’t know. Tell me he is going to be okay” Kevin begs with Justin.
Justin looks at Scotty and knows that he can’t lie to Kevin “We’ll do our best” as they lifted Scotty up on a stretcher he started to moan.
“Sweetie” Kevin said “you okay?”
Scotty couldn’t say anything still or open his eyes; he tried to say that Steve had done this but could.
He tried one more time when Kevin was a bit closer “Steve”
Kevin looked at Scotty in shock at first; who the hell was Steve? And why was Scotty asking for him; please no, not again.
“Kevin, are you coming?” Justin said bringing Kevin out of his own little world.
“I have to get the babies” Kevin said as he ran into the babies’ room. He heard a scream and realized it was actually him.
Everyone came running in and Kevin suddenly understood why Scotty had whispered Steve.

On the way to the hospital Scotty had passed out again and was still losing more blood no matter how hard they pressed down on the wound.
Kevin stared at Scotty completely out of his mind, was he going to lose his whole family after he had only just got them all back.
He pulled out his phone and the number that was given to him by Sam and pressed call.
“Sam” Kevin said “Scotty; my husband has been shot. Yes, he came to for a few seconds and said it was Steve. Yes, that would be good, thank you. The reason I was calling you though, I know it’s important but he took our babies. They’re missing” Kevin said not knowing what else to say “Please help me” they was a pause as Sam started yelling orders at everyone “I’ll call you when I have news” and they hang up.
Kevin just stares at Scotty hoping that he can hold on just so he can tell him how much he loves him and keep telling him that forever.
“Please Scotty” Kevin cries “Come back to me, I love you so much” knowing there isn’t anything else to do or say, he just waits.
