Summary: Set along the B&S SL but not in any of the scene. It’s a musical... because I feel like writing something more fun for once
“Bye” Scotty says goodbye first and stares at the phone a moment longer before returning it to its original place. There is a knock on the door and for a second Scotty wonders who it could be, Jordan, maybe, but he dismiss that theory and decides instead to answer the door.
A delivery man had arrived, special order, with the check, reward money. Then suddenly after a morning in bed upset, Scotty had a plan.
(Scotty)
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
This was even an idea that he had discussed with Kevin, briefly as it was; he wanted to become a chef. Kevin had said to pursue any dream he wanted; plus he loved the red velvet cupcakes he had bought over on to his mother house. He still refused to accept that evening as their first date, Scotty silently shook his head with a small smile on his face.
(Scotty)
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
Kevin was determined in his opinion, that if you have a dream, you should try because if you don’t, there is always the, what if and if you do, the worse that could happen is that you could fail. What was worse? Scotty thought it was better to seize ever opportunity; otherwise he might never have dated Kevin in the first place.
He really wanted to ring back Kevin and give him another chance but he also knew that Kevin wasn’t ready for them right now. He could see the good in him; that his heart was so big but that he wasn’t ready for the time of commitment he wanted or needed. He just hoped that one day Kevin would be, whether it was with him or not.
(Scotty)

When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
Scotty walks over to the computer singing, with a slight tap in his walk and logs into the local cooking school. He has been looking into the site for months and has been saving his money, now with the cheque he knows he’ll have enough for the year and enrols for the next semester.

“Bye” Kevin hangs up the phone quickly on Scotty; he feels humiliated and can feel the tears frightening to come out. He has never before liked someone so much and begged them to forgive him. He can’t believe he screwed this up this badly. He doesn’t really know what to do to make it alright, if there is anything to do to making better. Basically, the only thing he could do is change. Be a better person. A person worthy of Scotty!
(Kevin)
I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
One moment Kevin had been completely devastated but now he knew, he understood; that he wasn’t ready for Scotty now but he would be. With that thought in his mind he danced gracefully around his desk as he sung joyfully.
(Kevin)
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
Kevin couldn’t help but see the good in Scotty and Scotty loved to point out the bad in Kevin; though Kevin couldn’t help but admit he did deserved it and actually needed it. No one but Scotty had ever really pointed out all his good and bad points before.
“Thank you, Scotty” Kevin said to an empty room, he was gratefully for the time they had together.

Hopefully when he has grown up, three Martian years from now, he might be ready for a committed relationship. And he’ll have Scotty to thank for that. He smiles at the thought and on the last note of the song he sits back down at his desk ready for another day of work.
