"Writing causes the affect to slip into the effect...Because it is forgiveness, writing is transformation, transposition, translation."
~Julia Kristeva, BLACK SUN: Depresson and Melancholia, 1989.

With That Moon Language

Admit something:
Everyone you see, you say to them, "Love me."
Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect.
Why not become the one who lives with a full moon in each eye
that is always saying,
with that sweet moon language,
what every other eye in this world is dying to hear?

~Hafiz/Ladinsky trans.

A Great Need

Out
of a great need
We are all holding hands
and climbing.
Not Loving is a letting go.
Listen,
The terrain around here
Is
Far too
Dangerous
For
That.

~Hafiz/Ladinsky trans.

"...how hard it must be to live only with what one knows and what one remembers, cut off from what one hopes for!... There can be no peace without hope."
~ Albert Camus, 1948.

"Good art wounds as well as delights. It must, because our defenses against the truth are wound so tightly around us. But as art chips away at our defenses, it also opens us to healing potentialities that transcend intellectual games and ego-preserving strategies."
~ Rollo May, 1985.About Me:
