Happy Solstice
Happy Solstice and Yule to everyone. This is one of my favorite days of the year. I have to get up and clean the church but I will be back home to say good-bye to the night. I welcomed the new sun this morning starting around 12 a.m. maybe a little before. The longest night will occur today. The goddess leaves, the sun god is reborn. All is a good day's work I suppose. The crone dies, the infant is born that will become the maiden. Where did the year go??? I just strung cranberries for a spell/ritual. It was set up as a binding ceremony and augmented it so that it was not. A few of my strands were like--NOOO we're not letting you hang us--one of them was absolutely lovely. The other two are a bit shorter than they started out as--but still pretty. My hands are stained red. But I feel GOOD.
