In case anyone is wondering why I disappeared half way through school I was attending my grandfather's funeral in North Hampton. It was great to see all my cousin again, including my second cousin Tamzin, and my baby cousin, Charlina. It was sad and short, sang for a while, listened to the priest and watched them take the doffin away to be cremated.
We're going to have the ashes scattered on Lock Lomond. Anyone who has been there like I have will know it's quite a nice place and the Loch (Its a Lake for all those people who don't know they're more Lochs then just Loch Ness)is beautiful. I think we're going on a weekend.
Then we went to see the flowers. There was a train done in green and black carnations (he liked trains) I didn't know carnation came in those colours.
They don't
They had been spray painted and used to be white.
But my nan left a beautiful heart of roses. We each took one fro it to press or to keep.
My mum came as well, which everyone appreciated. And I saw my crazy great uncle George, who (though he did not do it on this occasion) does a hilarious duck-laying-a-cream-egg impression, with free cream egg if you're lucky.
It's times like these when you think about the good memories and all teh times you may have blown off your family for friends. But when it's just you and them, you don't feel the need to have to impress them, they know you and you know them, good points, bad points, crazy points.
So don't take them for granted, because you never know what's going to happen.
