i recently read a book titled Public Enemies; & yes, it deals with the true reality that the movie, similarly titled, was based on. it is indeed really interesting to view the case-files pertaining to the psyche of the greatest criminals of America during her War on Crime, in the post-Depression era; & the event that led to the subsequent glorification of the FBI. even as the criminals appear mythical for their outrageous & daring exploits, they were in fact, very real. also interestingly, each criminal possessed an altogether different personality; from Dillinger's casual, cool demeanour to Baby Face Nelson's trigger-happy quirks. somehow, i just find all this very exciting & intriguing.. to explore the motivations & character of these criminal masterminds.
