Writer's Block: Dream Trip

Feb 18, 2009 00:04

Ok, I've edited this entry about 398472398572345 times already, because LJ wants to be a bitch and not display ANYTHING I write: Today's Writer's Block question was: "If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?"

And my answer?

JAPAN! Without a doubt, I'd travel to Japan. I'm really in love with Japanese fashion and pop culture. It seems like everywhere else, fashion styles are just revamped and recycled...but only in Japan will you find something totally unique! So, since I'm about to start flailing about all the things I love about Japan, I think its time for.....

1. Gyaru fashion! Its so funky, fresh, and NOW. Very glam.

2. Hime style. Its mostly worn by girls who work in hostess clubs, but it reminds me so much of fairytale princesses!

3. Lolita style - its not something I'd personally wear, but I find such great beauty in it. I love Classic Lolita (which reminds me of Alice in Wonderland) and Sweet Lolita (which just reminds me of everything pink, cute, and frilly!)

4. Bento boxes! They're adorable, and they're just the right size to carry a perfectly-portioned lunch so that you don't overeat. This is just a stock picture from Ebay, but this is the bento set that I have. Isn't it ADORABLE???

5. Liz Lisa - only the greatest clothing store on the planet! Right now they're very much into displaying what's called "folklore" or "natural" style - which is pretty much American Indian meets boho hippie chic - very cute! I own a Liz Lisa hoodie and tank set that is just TOO cute.

6. Yuu Fukunaga - one of my favorite Japanese models! She is a model for Cawaii magazine, and has the most AMAZING eyes.

7. Cawaii and Popteen magazines - both have the most adorable, girly fashion, hair, and makeup styles in them! Plus, they usually come with a free gift every month - usually its makeup bags, but I've also gotten some really cool makeup mirrors, stationary, cell phone straps, and hair scrunchies.
.

8. Traditional yukata - they're so elaborate and elegant. What I really love is that when you are wearing a yukata, you are supposed to have a really fancy hairstyle. Very beautiful! Yukata are a light cotton kimono that are traditionally worn during the summer, when attending summer festivals. I'd love to own a yukata myself. My favorites are from the Kyoto Sweet Collection. I really love how some of them are very modern and stylish, while still being traditional.

9. Anime and manga - some of my favorites are shoujo (girly) manga and anime such as SuperGALS!, Peach Girl, Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers), Inu Baka, Kitchen Princess, and Ultra Cute.

writer's block, travel, pointless post is pointless, my picspams are always trufax awesome
