Volcano: A Love Story

Consider this #2 for the week.
Tragic.
I tried to draw something by hand tonight. It was... not pretty. I think I need to go back to basics for a bit before trying my hand at figures again.
I've decided that before I got through with my whole "spend money on myself" thing that I should at least get some things done for my car. First and most importantly, I need a new gas tank. It's not leaking or anything, but the little metal tab inside the fill valve had been broken off long before I bought the thing, and this makes putting gas in a less than pleasant experience. If the tank is low, I can get maybe a gallon of gas into it, then it will stop pumping because the gasoline has backed up into the fill tube and the pump thinks it's full. I have to let this drain out for a while before putting more gas in. All in all, it takes about five minutes to fill a drained tank, and with the added joy of not knowing if the tank is REALLY full or just backed up, so I never know for sure if I've filled it to capacity.
Secondly, the driver's window has been pulling (yes, pulling) the weather stripping seal out from the window frame in the front. Whenever I roll down the window, I have to hold the rubber seals in place with my hand or they'll get tugged out. It's gotten progressively worse since I noticed it (back before the mailbox incident) and it's putting a cramp on my job as you might well imagine. I'll need to get the window looked-at. Also i the "window" line of thought, my rear windscreen wiper does not work very well. Only the top half of the wiper actually wipes, leaving me with a small donut of visibility as opposed to the less small semi-circle of visibility I'm supposed to have. It wouldn't mean much if I didn't need to see out the back of my car when it rains. All of these things are mainly annoyances, but they're time consuming annoyances that are making my job harder on me. I'm not worried about the huge dent in the back by the tail light that's been there since before I got the car, that's purely cosmetic. I know a shop that'll install a new tank for a mere couple of hundred (as opposed to the local Pontiac dealership who wanted twice as much), I don't know what the window thing will cost. The wiper thing might cost forty or so.
Fortunately I've built up enough of a financial buffer to do this stuff without wiping myself out again and starting from scratch, like I had to do after running into that mailbox and finding out my insurance wouldn't cover it. It helps that I'm going to get payed next Wednesday. Hopefully I can finally talk my manager into giving me the paperwork for a direct deposit setup whereby I don't have to wait for a check to come in and then mail it to my credit union in Greenville. I've been trying to get him to set this up since before Halloween with a reminder at least every month.

Anyway, we checked up on Britain via the person he has apparently been staying with the past couple of days. He has indeed gotten the job at the convenience store. He's going to try and move back in with his girlfriend(?) Amanda. I think he should also look into a TracFone or other pay-as-you-go phone plan so that we don't get billed for his phone usage.
