Special Orders at the Taco Bell
I went to the Taco Bell drive through the other night. (I know.) The lady at the money window asked if I wanted any sauce. I asked for mild. She said they were out of mild. I said that's okay. Another woman helpfully told me they would be getting a truck in tomorrow.
(Wait for it... wait for it...)
WTF? Can I place a special order for mild sauce? Do I have to pay for it tonight? Can I pick my packets up through at drive through window or do I have to come inside? Will they call me when they come in? Can they just hold my crunch wrap in the back until then so I can pick them all up at the same time?
The second woman receded into the recesses of the Taco Bell back room. The first woman looked at me with the look of someone who has had too much Public. "That kind of day?" I asked. She started to work her fingers into her corn rows, caught herself and slapped her scalp to itch them instead. "Yeah. That kind of day," tapping the top of her head.
