Tell me the story of us,
how it all began
that very first day
when you noticed me,
wavy brown hair
dipping down
past my shoulders,
framing my baby face
of ocean blue eyes
and pink lips like a heart.
Tell me of that
crisp autumn morn
when you saw me
crossing the campus,
blue suede boots
beneath Landlubber jeans.
Casting your glance upward
for a spark of recognition,
you appraised my nubile figure,
and in less time
than it took to think
she's the one,
you wrote me off
as the unattainable dream.
