Mispronounced words

I just found this today. Unfortunately, those who need it most won't be reading this. Also, it has become acceptable to mispronounce certain words, like February, and to use colloquial expressions as if they were correct, thus further corrupting the language. You know what I mean: "They fixed it up just perfect" rather than "They fixed it up ( Read more... )

Crowded? I havent been to any libraries, but it is not that crowded. I would stay away from downtown, though, if I were you. That place is insane.

Shame on you! You get over to your library and check out a book. 30 minutes a day, mister!

I guess what Carlos is saying is that there are a lot of people out there and the other cities are up and coming and cheaper. I doubt he has been to a library, either. Some people just buy books. Come to think of it, I doubt my son ever goes to the library!

Heh, I own about 300-ish books. I'm not a library person:

1) Can't take library books on deployment
2) I usually take longer than 3 weeks, reading about 5 books at any given time. (Right now its Hitchiker's Guide, Einsteins 1912 Manuscript on Relativity, Dark Tower 5, and A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.
3) I usually read books more than once, or twice. Plus it's nice being able to pull it off the shelf and reference the book if you need to.

That's what I do, but she still tries to convince me of the library.

On the other hand, moving all my books to LA will be a fun adventure in postage.

heh, even though i was on the phone, i could still hear the movers jaw drop when I told him how many books I had.

The only library I ever used was the school library (the one at the academy was amazing, thousands of books on physics alone.)

Physics is the fundamental science; without physics the universe is nothing.

Moving so many times is the main reason that I have so few books in my home. I don't reread most books and they are always available at the library. I'm still sorry that I didn't keep The Many Faces of Ernie, Steve's favorite book when he was a baby. I thought I'd never need it since I knew all the words. But I don't remember anymore. It was a Golden Book, something I don't allow in the library!
