Matt Dallas: a lot. kyle and amanda's relationship is really tested this season by jessi. we see her finally reach her breaking point and wonder if it will be the end of kyle and amanda.

Matt Dallas: oh there are a few kisses this season between kyle and jessi but not all necessarily romantic ones.

Matt Dallas: yes they will. and fairly early in the season. there is something very pure and special about their relationship and it is tough to see them struggle with it.

Why hasn't Kyle told Amanda everything yet? He loves her and shes the only one that doesn't know.
Matt Dallas: kyle doesn't tell amanda everything for a couple of reasons. the biggest being that he wants to protect her and is afraid that knowing too much could put her in danger. also, he is afraid that it might be too much for her and that she will not love him if she knew all of his secrets.
Well it's good that we get a few kisses between them but I don't like that Kyle and Jessi will possibly just be a test for Kyle and Amanda.

3:55 moderator: Good afternoon or evening, depending on where you are in the world right now, and welcome to the latest in Fancast¹s series of live chats with TV's biggest and most exciting stars.
Today, we are delighted to have Matt Dallas, the star of ABC Family's hit, 'Kyle XY,' which it set to air again on ABC Family a week from tonight - Monday, January 12, at 9 PM.
In addition, Fancast is thrilled to be presenting all this week a sneak peak of the season three premiere.
Helping us to kick it all off is the star himself, Matt Dallas, who plays Kyle, the mysterious teenager who is coming to terms with who he is, what he is meant to be and what that means for himself and those around him. Realizing that life will never be normal, Kyle soon discovers that being a hero doesn't come without a price.
3:55 moderator: But you probably already know that - or at least we're betting that you did. We're also betting that you¹re as excited as we are for this new third season in which Kyle faces his greatest challenge.
Before now he was just a boy trying to figure out who he was and what his purpose was in life, but now as greater forces push him to rise to new heights, he must become a man. To do so, Kyle may have to sacrifice relationships with those he holds most dear.

Whats your favorite part of being on Kyle XY?

3:56 Matt Dallas: i would have to say i have two favorite parts about being on the show.

3:58 Matt Dallas: 2. the fact that i got to take this character and develop him from nothing. i got to be such a big part in the creation of him

4:02 Matt Dallas: well i had many conversations with the writers and creators of the show and we discussed the best direction for him. it was a little tricky at first because they wouldn't let me in on the secret of who kyle is and where he comes from. but we knew there was something special in his unique take on the world and we wanted to keep this kind og youthful aspect to the character.

I know you said you like all kinds of music, but do you have a favorite song, band or something?
4:04 Matt Dallas: well, just as a little plug i will start of by saying katy perry being that i just did her last music video "thinking of you". but i really do think she is great and i have been a big fan of her long before she blew up. i have known her a while and have been going to see her play in small venues all over la for years.

Is this season going to get a full 22 (or in last seasons case 23) episode order?
4:05 Matt Dallas: another artist i've really been into lately is lykke li.
4:07 Matt Dallas: i am assuming you are asking about season 3. unfortunately because of the writers strike we were only able to shoot 10 episodes this season. hopefully we will hear soon about a season 4 that will have 20 episodes.
4:07 moderator: Matt, our friend Isabell Careau of CliqueClack.com wants to know How do you see Kyle changing this season, as he gets older and wiser to the conspiracy around him? Will we see a darker side to him; a more worldly side perhaps?

4:09 Matt Dallas: this is a very interesting season for the growth of kyle. there is a new side of him we have never seen. he has a bit more of a darkness to him.

Do you feel any pressure with this new season?

4:12 Matt Dallas: i am excited for this season. i think it is our best to date.
4:13 moderator: Let's jump back a few years. Take us behind the scene of getting the Kyle XY part: What do you remember about how the script came to you, you're initial thoughts about it, your audition, and then hearing you got the part?
4:13 Matt Dallas: not really. i think this season will really speak for itself. it is the most action packed and exciting so far.
4:16 Matt Dallas: it was an interesting process. it all happened very fast. when i auditioned they had already cast all of the other roles and had apparently been searching for a kyle for some time. thankfully for me they hadn't found the right person. when i first read the script for the pilot i was a little nervous. i had to play a character with no past and that could hardly speak but i was def up for the challenge.

What types of scenes do you find are the most difficult to do?
4:18 Matt Dallas: i would say the most difficult are actually the most fun. they are the stunts. they take a lot of patience and are very exhausting. but always my favorite.

4:23 Matt Dallas: i just finished a film in new york called "as good as dead". i'm in along with andie macdowell, cary elwes, brian cox and frank whaley. it is a very different role for me. i play a red-neck white supremacist who is out to avenge his fathers death.

4:25 Matt Dallas: ha. strange sometimes. but fun. and as long as they let me play young i will.

Did you instantly get along with the rest of the cast?
4:27 Matt Dallas: all of the cast members hit it off right away. april and i actually first met in the airport on the way to vancouver to shoot the pilot. we looked at each other, she said "kyle" and then i looked at her and said "lori" and we've been best friends ever since.

What's your favorite thing to do up in Vancouver when you're not filming?
4:42 Matt Dallas: i started doing theater when i was 12 and never stopped.
4:44 Matt Dallas: well there is not a lot of downtime for me when we are shooting but when i do have a sometime off i usually spend it out hiking and going to dinner with the cast and crew from the show. they become your second family being that you spend so much time with them.
