Given that
Twitter has absolutely exploded regarding this and I've seen it elsewhere on the FList, you all probably know. But just in case: Amazon has apparently decided to removing the sales ranking on "adult" books. This seriously affects what turns up on Amazon searches. Which would be bad enough, except apparently "adult" means books with LGBT content like "Heather Has Two Mommies" but not stuff like a Playboy Centerfold Collection.
MetaWriter has some
a list of some books affected by the new policy. An Amazon search for "homosexuality" now turns up mostly
anti-gay books about curing it.
Amazon is apparently
claiming that this is a glitch, but it seems doubtful. They're probably trying to escape some of the bad PR.
seperis has
a pretty good rundown with links to some other things. Of course, you can contact Amazon customer service through the info on their site, but there's also
a petition you can sign.
