ANN, I hear that Del Rey has licensed Moyashimon! It's about damn time. I don't know how this went so long, actually, (it's been running since 2004 and the short anime ended a little while ago) since there's marketing potential for selling about a hojillion cute plush dolls and other toys.
If you haven't at least watched the anime adaptation of Moyashimon I highly recommend it. It's only 11 episodes long, and is a pretty unique series that makes for a very enjoyable watch. The series is about a young man starting agricultural college who has the unwanted ability to see microbes--bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc. But it's mostly really about finding yourself.
The anime only covers part of the manga, which hasn't really been scanlated probably due to the massive amount of scientific terminology related to micro-organisms, so now we'll get to see the rest of what happens!
I haven't seen any word yet on whether the manga release will mimic the original Japanese or not. The original was printed on recycled paper, with soybean-derived ink. They also had some limited edition volumes with extras like phone charms and toys of the various micro-organisms, who are all rendered as adorable cartoon characters (see icon, which is A. Oryzae). Hopefully this will be preserved in the English release--Del Rey is usually pretty good with their stuff, so it's possible.
