Figma Kyon (school uniform version) up for preorder! Finally. Now just for Itsuki to go up. You know, I really hope they'll do the alternate fantasy versions from the PS2 game, like they did with Haruhi, since I kind of like Itsuki and Kyon's costumes there. Be nice if they'd put the Hero Haruhi up for sale individually with the rest of the group.
I've been working my way through some of my anime and tokusatsu watching backlog, and keep forgetting to post about stuff.
I finally finished up the first season of Saiunkoku Monogatari but I haven't watched season 2 yet. I'm pretty happy with the progression of the series, and the first season closing was just so nice. I think my only complaint has been that with Shuurei's move, some of the side characters I like a lot, like Kouyuu and Reishin, don't get as much screen time. Hopefully that'll get better?
BTW, does anybody know how difficult the novels are to read? I need to start cracking down to work on Japanese, and I think rather than just trying to read doujinshi or manga I should take a stab at some light novels. But my level is not that high--I only scraped by JLPT level 3 (kind of sad given the fact that I took intermediate classes) so I want something that's not too simple but not really complex. Feel free to recommend anything you guys have gone through!
I've also been watching a fair amount of Kamen Rider stuff lately. I burned through all of Agito, which I really enjoyed though I'm a bit divided on the ending. We're watching Kabuto at the weekly meetings, which has really picked up and is a lot of fun. But I'm trying to choose a new toku show to watch on my own, and I haven't settled on one yet. I tried a couple episodes of Kamen Rider 555 and Kamen Rider Den-O but I'm not sure how I feel about either.
A Ranger show might be good, but honestly I have no idea where to begin. There seems to be little or no consensus among toku fans about best Ranger series. I did watch the first couple episodes of Boukenger and while the concept seemed neat I found it a bit too rushed and ADD for me. Hmm, maybe I should go back and check out Zyuranger to bring back some Power Rangers nostalgia...
