You know you haven't posted in a while when people start dropping you for not posting.
A few minutes ago I got a phone call. It was a local number but the caller ID said "unknown". I usually let those calls go to voicemail but for some reason today I answered. It turned out to be a political call asking me to vote for Joe Doherty. The woman gave her spiel and at the end asked me, "Can Joe Doherty count on your vote?" I said, "I don't know, what party is he with?" There was a pause at the other and of the phone and then an "um". Finally she said, "Well, I don't know but I have a number you can call to find out. Would you like that number?"
Bwahahahaha

I have been crazy busy, as usual. I've been organizing cake show, attending cake classes, working with
abodnar to build the web site for our big cake show coming up at the end of February and visiting with friends and family. My best mate, Carolyn, is here from England right now. She's not very happy with the disappearance of the sun the past few days and has been moaning and whining all day. The sun has finally popped out this afternoon and she's out now trying to soak up the few rays that deign to grace us with their presence.
I took 3 days worth of classes in Pasadena, Tx, last week with Debbie Brown. Debbie is the most published author of sugar art books in the UK and does some really cool stuff. I made some fun stuff, one of which was a 3-D dog cake. I was not best pleased when I got home and realized that I'd left it in the classroom. Oh well, it was cake, it would have had to be thrown out eventually anyway. I'm mostly bummed that I didn't get a good photograph. I got a few very blurry ones that I took with my phone and that's it.
I made a purse and high heels. The heels broke on the way home. :( I left Pasadena on Wednesday evening. I'm sure glad I left when I did as Pasadena is right next to Galveston. If you'd like to see the rest of my pics here is a link:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kylakae/ I also made a very cute animal scene that did make it home okay. Right now I'm working on a new girly version for a babyshower cake for Saturday.
Last Friday I made it out to the cemetery to leave flowers for my baby grand niece, Emily Rose, who would have been 5 this year. For those of you who weren't around then, Emily died of SIDS at just 5 weeks old. Every year since her death I find myself in a funk during the month of September. Every year it takes me a while to figure out what's causing it and every year it tends to go away after I've been to visit her grave.
In happier news this year marks my 22nd anniversary since my breast cancer diagnosis. I'm happy to be cancer free and able to walk the Komen once again. If you live nearby come
join my team and if not, I'd appreciate any
donation you can spare.
