If I were Tianmei in the picture above, and Yan Ge were talking to me, I imagine the conversation would go something like this:
Yan Ge: What's with the long face?
Me: *siiiigh* Now that My Daughter is over, I don't know what to do after class now!
Because yes, for the past 40 days, I have been rushing home after class every day just to get my daily fix of My Daughter. (Technically, it's been 41, but who's keeping track... oh wait, me.) The final two episodes aired today, and it was so deliciously dramatic and cheesy, but I could not stop smiling and laughing between my sniffles because I am just a sucker for happy endings.
This is the first drama I have followed all the way through while it was currently airing, and it was so worth it. Sure, the characters were at times stupid and dense and utterly ridiculous, but I was with them every step of the way.
Thank you, drama, for introducing me to Roy Chiu and to Tang Yan, and for making Tianmei such a kickass character and for adding Yan Ge/Tianmei to the list of my favorite OTPs of all time. Thank you for showing me that Baron Chen is still adorable even when his character is a wishy-washy wuss (and for reminding me to re-watch Fated to Love You). Thank you for alerting everyone to the existence of Jones Xu (aka Izz Tsui) and his sheer awesomeness -- and his
resemblance to Huang Xiaoming (this still blows my mind).
This drama has officially kicked off the year 2011 for me in terms of dramas. I'm hoping there'll be some more awesomeness to come -- although not too soon, I need a break. In the meantime, I'll be trying to finish up the other drama I was currently watching, which is a 33-episode-long twdrama. I used to think that was long, but after the 80-episode behemoth that was My Daughter, anything looks short to me now.
Okay, except the newest Three Kingdoms... I'll let
dangermousie handle that one. :D
