Limbus - Like everyone else
Last night my LS did Limbus-Apollyon as a last minute thrown together thing. We had 18 people but someone D/C'd and we went in with only 17. We had a total blast; we didn't have a clue what we were doing or where we were going, but it was still a blast. The event is a lot like Dynamis, but different. Basically it's a good instance, something that should have been done a long time ago.
First and most importantly, you can no get to sea via the Dem crag. Go to the southern most crag crystal (which is gone now) and use that to teleport directly into sea. You're in the northern "blocked off" part, but there is an updraft that will take you back to the main entrance.
As for Limbus, you need to speak with the BRD NPC in Port Jeuno and buy the detergent for 50k. Once you have that you have to kill an NM flower in the section of sea that you are warped to via Dem. The NPC is easy and can be taken out with a single party of 75's. When you kill it you recieve a key item called "Red Card" which is the second pre-req for the Limbus event. After you've obtained the two key items head over to the Swirling Vortex and head into Limbus-Apollyon.
Apollyon looks a lot like Promvy, I think that this is the "Lower-Promvyon" but I could be mistaken.
You get 30 minutes to clear the event; reports are coming in that "blue chests" are time extensions, we didn't find any of those but then again we just focused on climbing up instead of killing everything. Oh, speaking of which there are some interesting things on the way up.
The first floor is mostly Fomor. From what I understand each "path" has different mobs at different places. One HNMLS went in and said they fought Slimes, something we didn't see at all in our run.
The second floor was full of trees; once you kill the tree a beetle spawns, sorta like Lumber Jack.
The next floor was full of treasure chests; god I wish finding my AF coffers was as easy as finding a chest here.
We decided to click on one of the chests, unfortunately it turned out to be a mimic; it wasn't too hard but it did a ridiculous stun move that lasted almost 10 seconds.
The final floor was exciting, I've never seen so many elementals. No one cast anything so I don't know if they aggro to magic, but I'm sure they do. We pulled the Fire Elementals and apparently they link with the same elemental type. We got 3 of them and managed to kill them; at that time a coffer spawned and we had about 3 minutes. Someone clicked the coffer and we got some items.
I wish we wrote down what people needed beforehand. The White Rivet went to a WHM instead of a PLD and the Cloth went to a RDM instead of NIN. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Anyone know what the chip is used for?
All in all it was a very good time; the event is a lot of fun and the pre-reqs aren't impossible to achieve. The 50k price is a bit steep but hey, I pay at least 70k each time I try and do the solo ENM.
