The Clown is Down
I went on vacation this weekend and expected to come back on Monday to some FFXI fun, but alas stupid maint... Anyway, since I had some free time I decided to finally upload some pictures so I can write an LJ entry about them. Caution: This entry will contain semi-spoilers for CoP and is most definately not 56k friendly.
Last year when this Summerfest event started, I ended up turning off my sound. The music was just so irritating. I guess it's because I was leveling my craft at the time, so I spent an insane amount of time in the starter cities. Needless to say I didn't turn the sound back on until just recently. Of course as soon as I did the new festival started.
This was such a great picture. It was the first thing I saw as I came into Windurst Port. I think it's so neat how they do these little events, I wish they came more often though.
That's my little Summerfest buddy Ahhoong. He was a random pick up that wanted to do the swimsuit quest. We both had no clue how the game worked but after one try we figured it out pretty fast. He's a great guy, but I haven't spoken to him since that night; I really should send him a tell and see how he's doing.
After the most recent big update when they released the NPC Fellowship quest I decided to check out the lines that I was hearing about. I didn't try to log on the same day as the update because I knew I'd just be sitting there bitching and complaining, so by the third day I assumed the lines would be gone... nope!
I do think it's great that most people lined up and most people followed the rule, but of course there were a few jerks that had to cut. This line in particular was over 70 people long, needless to say I didn't stay in it too long. I left and came back the next morning and got the kill in pretty fast. Oh, and what's even more funny about this is that people were killing only one skeleton at a time instead of the three that they could have out. I kept suggesting to kill more than one but no one would listen...
...I'll get you my pretty! And your little dog too...
Here's me throwing away a relic horn. I'm sure some BRDs are gonna be upset with it, but really... it's my first (and only) piece of relic/af2 so meh.
In addition to my BLM I also like to play WHM. I just bought the scroll of Reraise 2 and decided to try it out here. They really should make the Raise spells come after the Reraise spells, but ... sigh.
This is the first time that anyone on Kujata tried to manaburn Divine Might. Needless to say it worked a lot better than any of us had hoped, they died in the first volley.

This is one of my favorite CoP pictures... that poor Eo'ghrah had no idea what was coming.
In Al'teau it's entirely possible for a BLM to solo. This is at the entrance to the zone, the red thing is what transport you back to the Safehold. I didn't get any chains but hey, I'm happy with the base EXP anyway.
Speaking of EXP... I have 4 merits already, but alas this is what happens when you spend more time in Dynamis/hunting HNM's/doing everything else but EXPing...
