Days of Our Lives : The John Black Identity
Despite long flashbacks, often from the day before, Days has a few very bright spots -- Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn and Joseph Mascolo. Marlena was almost pyschopathic today. John was creepy. And Stefano, well Stefano borders on camp, but still shiveringly evil.
Marlena poisoned Stefano with a "drug cocktail" that will leave him locked in a catatonic state, apparently having had a stroke. She'll fake his test results to hide the drugs and leave him to rot in some nursing facilty. And she did it while Stefano was in police custody. Okay, so it was the Salem PD. Only the worst police force in soaps.
Stefano was all cocky about what he'd done to "dryclean" John's brain to turn him in to the perfect killing machine without emotions, not able to stop his "mission" until his target is dead. Too bad he didn't expect Marlena to actually do something to stop Stefano.
And John had the cold killing machine with nightmares about his programming down pat. There was bravado in the face of being held in restraints in a psyche ward by people he doesn't remember and not a little thinly veiled terror.
I can barely wait for February sweeps when the past 20 odd years of the "John Black Identity" finally comes to a climax.
