I took my watch with the silver and turquoise band to the jewelers to have the clasp replaced
Again. And being the beginning of the holiday season, the jeweler couldn't promise to have it back to me before I'm due to fly back to DC. That's not really a problem. I'll be back here for Christmas.
But I can't stand to be without a watch. It has nothing to do with time, just the weight of the band around my wrist. So I resisted buying a gorgeous mother of pearl faced watch at the jewelers and picked up something much less expensive at Wal-Mart. It's has a heavy polished stainless steel band and the face is blue with purple-pink under tones. It's also water-resistant up to 100 feet. It should survive washing dishes and a shower or two.
