I just wasn't prepared for how I've come to feel about Joshua since he became involved with Dr. Heller. I suppose I would feel the same jealousy if Ian was a woman. After all, Joshua belonged to Echo team long before Ian came into his life.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not lusting after Joshua. It is way too late to be having a sexual identity crisis. Especially over one of my best friends. I just don't want things to change.
When I see how much they care for one another, how much Joshua is willing to risk to keep Ian safe, I understand what I'm missing. Fast cars, the best computers and chasing the bad guys doesn't keep a guy warm at night. Even the occasional long-legged bed partner who appreciates a man like me isn't a substitute for what Joshua and Ian have.
If I was honest, I would admit that it's not just Joshua and Ian. Even crusty old Nigel has Charity. Maybe it's time I followed Joshua's example and found someone to share my life.
