First, I hope you guys didn't have a strange interruption about 25 minutes into the show that delayed the start of the third act.
Yay! Again, no Lana. They'll make up for it in the next episode.
The Ford Fusion product placement was forced.
Lois at the Daily Planet with Chloe? This is how they are trying to make us believe that Lois will some day be a hard bitten news woman? I'm more likely to believe that she'll be secretly writing bad bodice rippers like Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane in "Lois and Clark."
Lois is annoying. I love that Lex doesn't take her shit. Calling her a "muffin peddling college dropout" was priceless.
Chloe was wonderful, but I worry about her involvement with Lionel. I worry about Lionel. How much of Lionel is Lionel and how much is Jor-El? There is something "off" about Lionel. And how would he know about Fine's abilities, anyway?
I knew that Fine was playing Clark. And it does look like that protecting the Stones from Kryptonians might have been a good idea to keep them away from the mechanism to opening the Phantom Zone.
But what I don't understand is why Jor-El had to be so damn cryptic and manipulative. He led Clark right into Fine's trap. Or are we to believe that he used his own son as bait to bring Fine to the Fortress in order to absorb the AI into his own matrix? Are we to believe that Jor-El is manipulative enough to let Clark suffer through Martha's illness hoping that Clark would fall for Fine's lies?
Does the AI that is what is left of Jor-EL just consider Kal-El a puppet? Is Jor-El really Jor-El at all? Or is he another AI construct from comic canon? Perhaps the Eradicator?
Chloe was right. Clark really does need to stop leaving that key lying around.
Loved Clark and Chloe talking it out afterwards and Chloe telling Clark the truth about Lionel. You would think that Clark would start to put two and two together about Lionel and Jor-El with this new clue and his little near death experience. But Clark is as dense as a brick.
And the next time Clark has the audacity to say "You lied to me!" to anyone, he should be smacked up the side of the head with a kryptonite shovel. That boy wouldn't know how to tell the truth if it were scripted for him.
