This weekend wasn't really my own! Bahh, hopefully this week will be less hectic. I've been working on some homework (while passing out to nap every now and then, ahem...) and I decided to catch up a bit on Defense Devil. It's just my luck that they have a crucial element that I'm extremely weak to.

I swear, it hit me harder than Accelerator x Last Order, probably because this manga is so damn tragic it's making my heart bleed. I'll bite my tongue and hold off on spoilers, but seriously, the author & artist duo really know how to hit where it hurts. Best manga I've read in a while. Just when the comedy gets hilarious, they throw in some tragedy to keep you on your toes. Fangirls everywhere cried tears of despair in the most recent chapters, myself included. Damnit, Shugarl, your lolicon ways and mathematical obsession have won this round.
I thought Jupiter would be kind of that annoying little mute girl who acts cute for the sake of being hopeless bait, but she's actually genuinely adorable. I'm not sure if this will spoil it, but the memory card was definitely played in this manga and it made things all the more depressing. Also, when demons smile for reasons other than because they're witnessing bloodshed or pain, you know you're in for a sobfest.
Still don't see how this isn't an anime yet. There is action in every chapter and it never drags. The main character sort of resembles Okumura Rin from Ao no Exorcist, and there's fan service everywhere. Plus there's Shugarl x Jupiter. C'mon already!
