Rec Bowl!!!

Tonight is the opening game for the 2007 MCHS Indians football season! I think the guys and the coaching staff are ready to go, and I am myself! Tonight is the 60th annual Recreation Bowl, the oldest high school bowl game in the state of Kentucky, and the Indians play the Clark County Cardinals in what is sure to be an exciting event. Not only is it a bowl game, but the Cards are our district rivals, so to have our opening game be against them at home on Cunningham Field is a great treat for the boys. And they are excited! The Quarterback Club, the parent boosters, have been running around like crazy getting things ready, and the field looks amazing! The team practiced last night under the "friday night lights" for two hours, until about 10:30 pm. I think we have an excellent shot at pulling this one out. Kickoff is set for 8:00 pm, but that could change if the heat index stays as high as it has been.

I'm praying for a safe...and successful...game!

In other news...work at Eastern is going well, and it's good to be back in the loop when it comes to the educational side of the profession. And Sean Wilson, who used to be an assistant ATC at Eastern, took the job at Clark County, so I'll see him tonight! It'll be nice to work with him every once in awhile.

In still other news...David looks like he may get released on Monday morning, at least for now. He has to be indicted within 60 days, and as of yesterday the time was up for the grand jury to issue one. I think everyone involved with the situation is grateful for that. Especially his cat, Tiger, who I've been watching for two months while this entire drama has unfolded. As a matter of fact, Tiger was so excited he decided to run out the door the day before yesterday and didn't come back until last night! He gave me scare; that was one scenario I didn't want to have to explain to his owner. But when I got back last night he was under the patio furniture out back and came right into the door when I called for him. It was so hot yesterday I was afraid he wouldn't make it, but now he's lounging on the floor like nothing exciting happened.

Guess that's all for now...I'll update tomorrow about the game!
