I have returned from my family's vacation cruise! The whole affair only lasted about two and a half days, which I think was just the right length of time to relax and take it easy without getting bored. We sailed to the Bahamas, where we went on a snorkeling trip that was 70% getting to and from the snorkeling spot and 30% snorkeling. We swam around a few feet over a reef filled with a few types of colorful fish for only an hour and had to wear vests that would not fully deflate, so staying submerged was difficult, but it was still fun. I managed not to get a sunburn and my swimsuit held up, so that was nice. I spent pretty much all my time on the ship either drinking or reading, and thanks to my iPod, which I produced every time my relatives started bickering, I didn't want to strangle any of my family. I had forgotten how tacky cruises are, though; everything was inauthentic and all about making money. Still, I had a good time hanging out and drinking with my stepmother and stepbrother. I also watched two movies in the wee hours of the morning when everything was closed.
Good Hair was excellent, but I agree with
Carter that too much time was spent on the hair battle scenes. (500) Days of Summer was the most cloyingly twee faux-hipster crap I've ever seen.
I'll post pictures from the trip when I have them all cropped and cleaned up.
