I found this really interesting. I'm rewatching BtVS right now, and as soon as I'm done with the 3rd season, I'm planning on working AtS into the mix. So, I'm looking forward to watching "She" with this in mind. So, thanks! (P.S. I'm here from gabrielleabelle.

This is very thorough. Thank You for this work. AtS is - at least for me - only watchable with commentary like Yours, the show is saturated with patriarchal ideology to the point of repulsive reception (by me).

I have often said that the (main) difference between Angel and Spike is that Angel has daddy-issues and Spike has mommy-issues. lol

They both rely on and fight with these aspects of their lives throughout their arcs. Since Angel is the main character of AtS, it's interesting how the writers and Angel confront, deal with, and represent patriarchal ideology.
