[flist hearts] Harry Potter with style
So here’s the deal. About a month or so ago upupa_epops was having a go of it with life and was publicly longing for someone to read to her aloud. And I thought it would be just the most cutesy if I recorded some chapters of Harry Potter for her - because the love is alive, people. I also thought it would be neat to record some things (short stories or something) for my sister happyg_rl - because I'm far away in Thailand and that's just too damn far.
Cut past my life being ridiculous and having ~depression set-backs and all sorts of nastiness to contend with that I wasn't expecting and now we are nearing the end of September and vergoldung is about to head off into the great, wide somewhere to study and be fabulous.
And it just felt like the right time to actually do it - so here is the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone narrated in my ridiculous voice. My warnings are these: my voice is silly. Also - I was doing such a good job of being ~professional and not messing up (also went back and edited a few hiccups in the recording) ... but right around the time McGonnagal starts crying - I STARTED TO CRY. So it just gets a little ridiculous for the end. My mess-ups have slight giggles because I can't see due to tears.

I may do more, I haven't decided. This is a gift for my friends and loved ones. A silly thing for you to have in your pocket just to remind you that there is a ridiculous girl in the world who loves you and cries when she reads you Harry Potter.
This is also - it should be noted - a gift for everyone. Marta may have asked for it and MK may have inspired it and Princess E's upcoming move may be the kick in the ass that I needed to do it, but all of your names are on it. Because I really, truly, honestly don't tell my flist/dash nearly enough how much I love you all and how much strength I have gained by knowing you.
