I'm not sure what would happen if they weren't endgame. I'd probably just block the whole series from memory and then years later talk about it like a war I don't like to talk about. But they aren't soul crushing. Even the darkness is so... Lovely and squishy.

They are stupid, basically.

They remind me of Damon pretending to be inva relationship, with squishy pet names and ridiculous phone calls, only it is real and not a game. They allow each other to be playful and loving without questioning it.
