Don't put coke behind your laptop

All the time we are advised not to eat or drink near a computer, be it a notebook or desktop computer. ok this isn't about accident proneness or such but something I certainly didn't expect. As some of you will know I have been rambling on about a notebook recently and the fact it feels warm under operation. well...

I opened a can of coke and placed it behind my notebook, I didn't drink from it, and pretty much forgotten about the thing entirely since I didn't see the thing. I left my computer running for a while running SWG, damn celebration badge. :( When I got fed up I logged off and feeling a little thirsty, I remembered my can of coke. Picking it up I noticed the can was very very warm, not uncomfortable enough to burn my hand but not too far off. I also noticed it was rather light in weight, drinking from it I realised it was far from full. As a rough estimate it was probably half a can of coke or there abouts. Woah, that's some evaporation going on. The coke was also completely flat, all the fizz was gone.

Looking at the back of my notebook, I notticed the exhaust holes for the fan was right next to where I had put my can coke, Not only was putting a coke behind my laptop stupid because I could have knocked it over by moving the display panel and  to top if off. I evaporated half of my coke off into the atmosphere. GREAT! and it was flat too.

funny, computer
