I wrote this poem while listening to Tchaikovsky's "Romeo and Juliet Overture".
Many hours of darkness surround us,
And all the evils our houses hold
Will seek to crumble
What we know is pure and true.
Spirit away with me, O beloved!
Together, we will flee beyond
All the seas and mountains
To find our Eden,
And refuge there for eternity.
Goodnight, sweet children,
And may you dream of each other...
Isn't it fascinating how music can inspire the human mind?
"But Kwoiffei! Why were you listening to Tchaikovsky?! ...and who is he, anyway?"
Well, let me say that I'm a music student, and learning about music includes learning about the history of the subject. One of the most important periods of music is the Romantic period - its influences can still be felt in modern music today, especially in film scores/soundtracks.
When I have more time (evil nanny program >_> Argh!), I'll do a more in-depth explanation, while trying to make it sound interesting. It's a fascinating subject.
