Arroyo Path at Dawn

Another sky watercolor, this time a little closer to home. About five minutes from home, in fact, in the northern part of the arroyo that goes down through Pasadena. This painting is based on a photo I took at dawn earlier this year when we were having so much rain. A storm was moving in and we were dodging raindrops the whole time we were there. Somehow I think it would have been difficult to do a watercolor under those conditions - with that much humidity in the air it would have taken forever for the paper to dry to do the harder edges. In such circumstances a camera in a plastic bag makes a good companion.
