Happy birthday, Moira

Jul 18, 2007 10:12

Today, Moira, you are four years old.  You know your letters and your numbers, and you are starting to learn to spell.  You love being a big sister, and really enjoy playing with Lily and making her laugh. You delight in Lily's accomplishments as much as your Dad and I do.

You love to sing, dance, run and play.  You seem to make friends wherever you go.  You are open with your smiles and hugs, and you dissolve into tears at the slightest criticism - quite a sensitive little pleaser.  You also seem to like to model, and you pose for people whenever you see a camera.  We have some amusing photos from summer camp thanks to this!

Moira, you've told your Dad and I that you'll listen and follow the rules when you're four.  And if your behavior this morning is any indication, you meant it.  I have to say that I hope this carries on.

I love how your mind is developing, and I love seeing how you work things out.  It's almost like I can see the wheels turning behind those pretty green-blue-hazel eyes of yours.  Soon, you'll start another school year, and the wonder of learning will go into high gear again.  I think you'll learn to read this year.

You, Moira, are my bright star and one of my fondest wishes come true.

I love you,
Mommy
