If you never have a dream, then how you gonna have a dream come true?

Hello!

This is a real entry, though this time I can at least pretend it's about my last trip. Guess I'll start on that.

I went to Budapest again! This time I brought two friends over with me. It was almost a mirror image of the last holiday. Lots of drunken cheap fun, but this time we did do slightly more. We went to a medieval banquet thingy which was great fun, no forks given - forks are for pussies it seems. And the only thing I could see anyone drinking (our group included) was litre mugs of beer. There were swordfighters and bellydancers and all sorts, great fun altogether! What else...because my two friends are graffiti writers we spent a day with one of the decent graffiti writers in Europe which was cool, he wasn't like most writers either (urban wigga look), he was...conservative looking. I guess that's a better look to have when you're higher up in the game..
We also went exploring the city a few times, one of which I'll never forget...we found a 24 hour bar (not a good idea) so we kind of forgot about time and ended up wandering the streets of Budapest at 11am in search of food. Needless to say we found and consumed both kebabs and burger king meals, what a wonderful city :)
Otherwise it was just a fun social kind of trip. The drinking there is a nice change from Ireland. I mean I've enjoyed lots of clubbing here but over there you just sort of get drunk around a table with a smallish group of people and the music isn't that loud so you can hear everyone. It's...different, much less emphasis on the hooking up/getting ridiculously drunk aspect. I mean it being a euro a pint or so in cheaper places means everyone *does* get ridiculously drunk, but it's not the aim of the night, you're just out socially drinking for many many hours and eventually just sort of end up really drunk. All in all a great trip :) many a photo up on my bebo if anyone's interested, bebo.com/kwetzal in case anyone doesn't have me...do add me if that's the case!

What other news...I passed my driving test a few weeks ago which was a great weight off my shoulders with the upcoming enforcement of the law I was breaking all the time I was driving! And considering without a student card my train would be 45 euro it'd actually be cheaper for me to drive to Dublin now, so I may next time I go (I managed it last time by going with my granny so I got a free ticket on her pass as her "minder")...ok bus ticket is like 20 euro but that's irrelevent. Though the next paragraph will involve me being broke and so I can't actually afford 45 euro.

Brokeness isn't good. I mean I've been pretty broke many many times, I used to travel to dublin every second week so I'd bring packed lunches to school when everyone else was buying them and various other cheapskate things to make my 20 euro pocket money workable. But I've never been...*actually* broke until now. I'm on the jobhunt but while there are a million jobs going in Dublin, Galway seems scarce. I'd be happy with anything at this stage, even another horrible supermarket job, so I'm gonna start applying for even really crappy jobs tomorrow, I just need the money really badly. I mean I had to loan 20 euro to buy fuel on Friday :p My parents have offered to give me some money but at the end of the day I don't really need it, like my main requirement atm is fuel and saving up to travel this Summer, I'd rather be independant and poor than wealthy and scrounging off the parents. The only thing I'd consider a possible necessity is a Phantom power unit, see I bought a proper microphone with my new guitar a few months ago to do proper recordings, but it turns out you...can't use a proper microphone without external power, like a pre amp or PA unit, neither of which I have so I'll need a power supply. I wasn't too fussed but I tried out the mic at my drummer's house yesterday (he does have pre amps and stuff as he's doing that stuff in college) and it really does sound like me. I mean I always figured you sound different in recordings of you singing than in real life, but no, I do actually sound much better than my crappy microphone makes out :p so now I really want to get that working....that got awful ranty actually, sorry!

Other news...I haven't been drunk in Ireland (was out every day in Budapest but that really doesn't count) much at all in the last few months. Combination of lack of money or thinking I'd be better to spend money on other things when I do have money. I don't really like clubbing anymore. I mean it's fun but the main goal for most people is to get really drunk and score random people, which is great fun don't get me wrong but I'm just not in the mood for it at the moment. So the only time I'm drinking usually is houseparties and bushing sessions, which are only once a week or so generally. Getting drunk once a week still sounds bad but as those reading in college will understand that's very little for someone my age. My friends tend to go out 4 nights a week generally, more on special occasions. I still go out lots, I just bring the car and taxi lots of people home at the end, which is fun and my good deed for the week :)

Also I've been getting into video recording. As in music videos. I've been into the photography stuff a long time but sort of lost interest as I was saying in my last post, but recording videos of me singing has given me a brainwave to make my own music videos! It's very fun and a whole new area to master and might actually help my career and whatnot so it's all very positive! I spent a few hours yesterday shooting a couple in a woods, for "Your Song" (tis on me myspace), and enjoyed it alot. It's a song about a couple of best friends and one admitting to the other that he loves her and stuff so I'm having them act out each line sort of thing, I think it looks good so far anyway, finishing shooting it next Saturday when I'll also be recording a proper version of it with the new mic at band practice so...hopefully I'll have my first actual music video soon!

That's about it from me I think...nothing to report on the lovelife front at all. I've scored an entire one girl since the two-girls-going-at-once fiasco, and am not really searching for anymore. I don't really want a girlfriend what with leaving for most of the Summer and all, and I aint really interested in random scores anymore. Even that girl I was just really drunk and regret it. Who knows what to do, guess I'll just keep living and if any come my way I'll deal with them. They can form a queue or something :p
That took an awful long time and is probably full of bad grammar and other errors as it's 5am and I'm quite tired, but I think I've covered the last few months well enough!
Bye bye!
