Now that Merlin has ended, the shows I'm watching are:
My Mad Fat Diary
This show is SO GOOD! It is a teen show but boy, it's relatable. Funny and realistic. Sensitive issues are told in a non-typical TV-trope way. Love all the boys on this show. They play against stereotype and are adorable. The lead actress made me laugh, cry and cringe. She's just fantastic. The soundtrack kicks ass and brings back nostalgia like whoa. 90s Britpop rocks!
However, being a UK show, the season consists of only 6 episodes. Good news is, it's getting rave reviews and is coming back for a 2nd season. Bad news is, it can take up to a year for it to be on TV again.
Grimm
Finally caught up on Grimm. My favorite X-Files and Smallville seasons were S1-3. These were the FotW-heavy seasons and they were fun. When they touched on the shows' respective mythology arcs, it was in small doses, climaxing to a 2-parter season finale. Cheesy and formulaic, but they were (arguably) the best seasons.
If Grimm follows the same pattern, it will be good for 3 seasons and I will quit watching in season 4. However unlike XF and SV, Grimm doesn't have a fanatic fanbase to last it more than 5 seasons (at most, 6). At least, it won't drag on beyond its expiration date?
The Following
Criminal Minds is not doing it for me anymore. I don't know why. The Following hooked me with its pilot and serial killer plot. I'm dying to know what the endgame is. I can only hope the writers know what they are doing and not making it up as they go along. :::coughMerlincoughLostcough:: All I want is for it to make sense when all is revealed.
Lots of stupidity on this show (when your victim's house had been broken into TWICE, isn't it time to move to a safer location, duh) but I'm sticking to it. Don't drag the 'mystery' for too long else noone will care anymore::coughPrettyLittleLiarscough::
I don't know how the show is going to last beyond one season though.
And oh, Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy are teh sex.
