The Dark Knight

"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain"

Look at this poster. What do you see? A lonely figure watching the city sleep? Well, then you should look again. That is not a window; it is the bars of a prison. And that is a man who lives behind bars created by his own devices while he watches from a distance people live the lives he wish he could have. Batman - The Dark Knight was not a mindless blockbuster full of action and explosions. It was an author movie. The storyline and the way it was shoot was unique and courageous. Besides, the whole cast - the core of a movie - is perfect. People are always talking about Heath Ledger, but he is not the only one whose acting shone in this picture. It would be unfair to state that. It is much more difficult to capture the audience's attention if you have to portrait a less "show off" character. To cause empathy and sadness without even looking at the camera, without moving a single muscle, having only his profile and his voice to aid his acting skills. If you watch this film, you'll know which scene I'm talking about. Can't wait to see it again (only watched it at the opening, shame on me).
