i will miss the sun in the morning. at 6 am the sun rays dance through my windows and when i am on the bus going to work, it is just so lovely that it is warm and sunny almost every morning.
i will miss living in a city with a spectacular, active volcano and a beautiful crater lake at the foots of it.
i will miss that things are just easy. you need to transport a couch? no problem, get some rope and let's tie it on top of the bus.
i will miss the fruits. i am so in love with papaya, watermelon, avocado, pijibaye, mango, pera de agua, sweet oranges....
i will miss reggaeton music. i am well aware it is total bimbo, but it is just cool to dance to and i am in a good mood when i hear it. haha
i will miss the field trips, going out to the farmers.
i will miss going on motorbike with the guy with the beautiful eyes.
i will miss flying with the small 12 passenger cessna aircrafts on a regular base. and i will miss my fave airline, la Costeña. i cannot imagine ever flying more often with another airline the rest of my life..
i will miss my second family, mercedes and her son bequer.
i will miss hammocks.
i will miss speaking Nica Spanish.
i will miss drinking pozol, pinollio, cebada con leche, fresco de zanahoria, fresco de remolacha etc...
i will miss eating non industrialized sour cream and red beans. i will not miss the rice though.
i will miss the people i have been with all the time, my co-workers and farmers etc. i mean, those relationships are different than i have had before but nonetheless i came to love those people.
i will miss not having stress at all. i will miss having a lot of idle time. i have even learned to love waiting and to be patient. isn´t it ironic, the things i had hated the most before coming here?! i am proud.
i will miss feeling good being a curvy woman with a belly and a butt.
i will miss not having a credit or debit card on me all the time but getting money from the ATM and calculate my expenses in advance.
i will miss having a beautiful mango tree in my patio.
i will miss my adopted dog LAICA ♥
yes, i will miss my Nicaraguan life a lot.
but i won't miss being harassed because i am pretty and a woman, eating gallo pinto (it is rice with red beans mixed) and rice, not being able to go for walks, not being able to do certain things on my own as a (white) woman, being on alert mode almost all the time because of security issues, hearing about people being killed practically on a weekly base, hearing about my friends' houses being broken in and stuff robbed etc.
but still i will miss the good things more than i will be glad to leave the bad things behind. i guess, i managed to getting used to those circumstances and i kind of learned how to adapt...
hope all is good in LJ-land. have a nice Monday.
