What is it with vets and not getting back to people on time?
First, the results of Tip's Cushings Disease test and thyroid panel. Three days late, and I had to call for them. Thankfully, the former was negative and the latter normal.
And now, Freddy, who either has a polyp or a tumor in his ear. More observation was necessary. Vet was supposed to get back to me about three hours ago. I'd quite appreciate knowing a) what it is, b) how bad it is, c) what the prognosis is, and d) when my cat can come home, since he (as is normal for him) is coming out of anaesthesia very slowly.
Because I always think the worst, and because at Freddy's age (14) and history (taken in off the streets, though granted, that was age 2) I'm preparing to be hearing about a malignant neoplastic tumor. And if that's the case, though I don't know how long his lifespan will be, I want to know what I can do to make him comfortable--since there's really not much of a reason to operate at that level on an aged, somewhat senile cat, losing his sight and hearing, whose health has been in the process of decline for several years.
It surprised me... when I first saw that there was pus in his ear, I suspected an abscess. I know about abscesses. That I could deal with.
Why am I posting this here when nobody reads the damn thing? I don't know. Gets my head straight putting things into words, I suppose.
