Sweet porter

Aug 22, 2010 03:09

Brewed a sweet porter with 6.6 pounds of amber LME,  1 pound of amber DME, and 4 oz of maltodextrin.  Grains used for partial mashing were .5 pounds of chocolate malt, and 1 pound of crystal 20 malt.  Hops added were 1.5 oz Amarillo at start of 60 minute boil, and .5 oz added during the last five minutes.  Strained to fermenter, and added water to 5 gallons.  OG was 1.042 pre pitch at 117F.  Currently waiting for it to cool enough to pitch yeast without overly stressing them.  No starter, just going to follow the instructions on the packet.

Sadly, won't get to the tripel tonight, as it's 3am already.  Will have to wait for later today.
