I finished reading Marvirinstrato, which is a collection of original short stories in Esperanto by my friend Tim (some have won prizes in the big annual Esperanto literature contest). In November, I went to New York City for the weekend to see the_americanist. We visited the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art) with a friend of hers who is an art historian, so she was able to lead directly to interesting pieces and tell us about them -- I highly recommend visiting art museums with art historians :)En novembro, mi veturis al Novjorkurbo por visiti ( Read more... )

When I was in highschool 16 years ago, I remember hearing that Jules Verne had started a novel about a group of researchers who were commissioned to go into the heart of Africa and who used Esperanto to communicate with the locals.
