Times, They are A'Changin'

Not sure how many people noticed, but I made some changes to my layout (prompted mostly because the lovely starxd_sparrow changed hers and I couldn't help myself.) You can see it here: kvancelot.

The old style was vaguely influenced by my dear Intrepid Mister Kennedy from Horatio Hornblower (mostly in color,) and while I will invariably miss it, it was about time for a change.

This layout has some influence based with Ada, but for the most part, it's kinda just me. My favorite color is still Clayton Forrester Green, but this vibrant blue has crept into my life right behind it. It just makes everything that much more colorful in my opinion.

It got me to thinking, though, how much my favorite characters influence me. Since joining Livejournal in 2001, I've had a total of 4 major layouts:

• The first was green and bright and completely Dr. F from Mystery Science Theater 3000. Most probably won't remember it, but I really enjoyed spending a couple years making everyone's eyes bleed with the absolute brightness of it. Haha!
 

• The second layout was Dean Stockwell-based. Can't claim this to any one character he's played (as I have an affinity for nearly all of them,) but most of the images were from when he was a brilliantly handsome young man (as opposed to the brilliantly handsome man he still is today, thankyouverymuch!) The layout was mostly black, white and gray, and felt a lot like my young Bingo's journal here: bingo_faced.
 

• Third? Totally Archie. I wanted colors that said Archie and I got them. It was simple, clean, and all sorts of navy and gold. Most of you would probably be the most familiar with this layout.
 

• And now, number four with its grays and tealy-blues. Love it.

I guess it just bears mentioning that even after all these years, I still find so much love and influence from characters that most everyone else turns a blind eye to. What an exceptional feeling. :) It also helps me to track my serial love, because once I find a character I adore, there's nothing that takes that away.

In the end, it all comes full circle, no?
