TUUUURKEY DAY!

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

As everyone probably knows, Turkey Day is special to me. Not only do I have a great many things to be thankful for, but I also take this holiday as an opportunity to pay homage to one of the greatest shows ever conceived through a cloud of something suspicious, in the back of a dark part of Minnesota.

For those of your who may wonder what the heck I'm talking about, I mean: MST3K -- Mystery Science Theater 3000, just in case you're not into acronyms. More than once, there was an MST3K Turkey Day Marathon, with cute little bumpers starring the cast and crew. So, at one point, we just sort of fell into the tradition. Every year, I try to have a MST3K Turkey Day Marathon.

Sadly, this year's list of MST3K to choose from hasn't change much from last year (or the year before:)

201 - Rocketship X-M
301 - Cave Dwellers
303 - Pod People
321 - Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
404 - Teenagers from Outer Space
407 - The Killer Shrews (with short: Junior Rodeo Daredevils)
408 - Hercules Unchained
406 - Attack of the Giant Leeches (with short: Undersea Kingdom Pt. 1)
410 - Hercules Against the Moon Men
421 - Monster A-Go Go (with short: Circus on Ice)
424 - Manos: The Hands of Fate (with short: Hired II)
507 - I Accuse My Parents
511 - Gunslinger
512 - Mitchell
513 - The Brain that Wouldn't Die
515 - The Wild Wild World of Batwoman (with short: Cheating)
517 - Beginning of the End
518 - The Atomic Brain
603 - The Dead Talk Back (with short: The Selling Wizard)
606 - The Creeping Terror
609 - The Skydivers (with short: Why Study the Industrial Arts?)
611 - Last of the Wild Horses
622 - Angel's Revenge
816 - Prince of Space
821 - Time Chasers
902 - Phantom Planet
907 - Hobgoblins
908 - The Touch of Satan
1003 - Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders
1006 - Boggy Creek II: The Legend Continues

So, turn down the lights (where applicable) and join us, won't you?

On a side-note, among the many things I am thankful for this year, here's a very shortened list:

My mother, my father, my grandparents, my sister, and my brother, my wonderful fiance, my friends, my health, my new job, my new apartment, and the opportunity to move forward in my life with wisdom and understanding, while still keeping my wits about me. Also, I am thankful to have a great amount of will, which has allowed me to be smokeless for over a year now. Plus, a very special thanks to my little 1996 Buick Skylark. She's had it hard this year, but she's held up like a real trooper.

This season, I'm very fortunate to have what I have, so I wish you all a great and wonderful holiday season, and I hope you are all fortunate enough to have something to be thankful for, as well.

mst3k, my life, turkey day
